Recumbent Exercise Bike: Schwinn 240 Review
The comfortable Schwinn 240 recumbent exercise bike is offers a compact design and the feel of a more traditional outdoor bike while relying on core, stabilizing muscles to balance your body weight. Features include a 20-pound flywheel, 16 resistance levels, 17 programs, adjustable seat, and both telemetry and contact heart rate monitoring.
Superiority
The Schwinn 240 recumbent exercise bike is extremely quiet; you don’t even have to adjust the volume level of the TV. The backlit LCD is nice in the lights low. This recumbent bike is used by a lot of customers for the rehabilitation of the knee; it really helps them to become better on their knees. For people with back problems, this is also a good investment. This recumbent is also suitable for 6’3 tall. There is some room to move the seat even further back. It has a comfortable seat with good adjustment for tall people. The programs for different exercise routines have a nice variety. The heart rate monitor works well while gripping the lower hand grips.
The Schwinn 240 recumbent bike feels very sturdy and the seat has no wobble and really didn’t take up much space at all. This exercise bike is designed for maximum user weight is 300 pounds, but a fact from a guy who has 500 pounds weight and 6’8 tall says that this bike is VERY sturdy and it has no problem supporting him whatsoever. Although the Schwinn did not recommend.
Weaknesses
The text regarding the programming of a user is unsatisfactory, confusing, does not effective communicate to a reader. The user manual is not very helpful in configuring the “custom” circuits, which is a required step when setting up a user. Seat is hard to move if you have multiple users. You can’t adjust the seat while riding like on many gym models. Can’t adjust the seat back angle, or raise the side handlebars for those of you with short arms. It has no internal memory to save custom programs in case the bike is unplugged from the outlet.
